Introduction to AI for Local Government

1x 3 hour LIVE, Online course (via Zoom or MS Teams) with a professional trainer and a maximum group size of 16 people.

Overview

This introductory course gives local government officers an overview of what AI and Machine Learning is, what it can and can’t do, and the ways AI is changing local government right now, and explores the moral and ethical dilemmas associated with AI.

In 2020, local authorities saved over £195million by introducing AI into their organisations. This figure is expected to increase dramatically over the next decade. Councils are already using AI for a range of purposes, including reducing call volumes, driving financial savings, improving services for residents, gathering better data, monitoring potholes and improving highways to streamlining their HR practices.

This course helps local government leaders and elected councillors embrace this new technology which is being deployed right now and understand its strengths and weaknesses and appreciate what it can and can’t do.
